Ms.Eaton
Hi! My name is Marlène (Marly) Eaton- this school year is my eighth year of teaching and my third year at Green. Before coming to Green, I taught kindergarten in New York City and worked for one year as an English Language Learner Teacher. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies and Hispanic Linguistics) and Hunter College (Master of Science in Early Childhood Special Education, Birth-2nd Grade). I am currently studying TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
I believe in valuing every child and every family for the experiences, languages, and cultures they bring to the school. I also deeply believe that all students should learn in classrooms where they feel that they belong, that they are significant, and that they can have fun. I think teachers have one of the best and most important jobs in the world, and I'm so honored to be able to work with your student this year.
Hola! Soy Marlène (Marly) Eaton- este año escolar es mi octavo año como maestra y mi tercer año en Green. Antes de llegar a Green, enseñé kínder en la ciudad de Nueva York y era la maestra para los estudiantes que aprenden inglés. Me gradué de la Universidad de Carolina del Norte en Chapel Hill (Licenciatura en Lingüística Hispánica y Estudios Internacionales) y Hunter College (Maestría en Educación Especial, Nacimiento-Segundo Grado). Actualmente estudio inglés para hablantes de otros idiomas (TESOL, por sus siglas en inglés) en Hunter College.
Creo en valorar a cada niño y cada familia por las experiencias, las culturas y los idiomas que traen a la escuela. También creo profundamente que todos los estudiantes deben aprender en un salón donde sienten que pertenecen, que son importantes y que pueden divertirse. ¡Creo que ser maestra es uno de los mejores trabajos en el mundo, y es un honor trabajar con su hijo/a este año.
